Traxcell Technologies, LLC v. Cellco Partnership — Fed. Cir. (argued September 8, 2026)

The Federal Circuit hears Traxcell Technologies versus Cellco Partnership. After an Eastern District of Texas court ordered Traxcell to pay Cellco's attorney's fees in a patent case, Traxcell filed a separate action in the Western District of Texas to have the fee judgment declared void. The appeal focuses on whether that separate challenge can proceed, whether Traxcell can satisfy the demanding standard for an independent action, and whether the earlier Federal Circuit mandate allowed the trial court to award the fees.
