Collard v. Bisignano — 9th Cir. (Aug 4, 2026)

The Ninth Circuit reviews the denial of Kristin Collard's Social Security disability claim. An administrative law judge found that she could not return to her former heavy work but could perform a reduced range of light work. The district court affirmed. The issue is whether the judge gave legally sufficient reasons, supported by substantial evidence, for discounting Collard's symptom testimony, lay statements, and medical opinions despite fibromyalgia's waxing and waning symptoms.
