Doumitt v. Bisignano — 9th Cir. (argued July 10, 2026)
The Ninth Circuit hears Jason Doumitt's appeal from the denial of Social Security disability benefits. A state psychologist said he could follow short and simple instructions, but not detailed or complex ones. Yet the administrative law judge found that he could perform simple and detailed tasks learnable within thirty days. Counsel for Doumitt will argue that this translation improperly broadened the psychologist's restriction.
