United States v. Jamari Edwards — 7th Cir. (Sep 29, 2026)
The Seventh Circuit hears United States versus Edwards. Edwards pleaded guilty to three Chicago carjackings and related gun charges. In one carjacking, he shot a driver in the leg after forcing him out of his car. He received twenty-two years in prison and appealed the criminal judgment. Supervised release is a period of court supervision after prison, with conditions the person must follow. Restitution is court-ordered compensation to crime victims.
