Liu v. Hochul — 2d Cir. (argued September 1, 2026)

The Second Circuit hears Lewis Liu's challenge to New York's winner-take-all method for choosing presidential electors. Liu says giving all electors to the statewide winner unconstitutionally strips losing-candidate votes of electoral weight. The district court dismissed the suit. The state defendants answer that Williams and the circuit decisions applying it foreclose the challenge.
