United States v. Andre Adams, Jr., Appellant — 11th Cir. (Sep 29, 2026)
The Eleventh Circuit hears an appeal by Andre Adams after a jury convicted him of drug and gun crimes. Detectives investigating suspected sales at a Bradenton home obtained warrants to search the home and a storage unit; they found drugs and firearms. The trial judge refused to exclude that evidence. Adams says the home-warrant affidavit left out a key detail: fentanyl residue in the trash was found inside a pill bottle bearing someone else's name. He wants a Franks hearing, where he could challenge the affidavit's truthfulness. The judges will ask whether he supplied the preliminary proof that such a hearing requires, and whether the omitted detail could have changed the warrant decision.
