Standing Trees, Inc. v. U.S. Forest Service — 1st Cir. (argued September 9, 2026)
The First Circuit considers a challenge to two timber projects in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. Standing Trees appeals a judgment upholding the Forest Service's approvals. It argues that the agency did not show compliance with the forest plan and failed to consider alternatives and the projects' combined effects. The Forest Service disputes those claims and says some were not preserved below.
